well, sunday midnight hour is almost round the corner again, and hopefully i have found this album before it will kick in..
it is a beautiful and very calm piano album for early winterdays..i guess, it was released sometime in 2008..
like all cool people, ometotchtli says on his myspace page, that myspace is dead..he is so right, they just killed themselves finally, so no need to link to his myspace page..here is the link he gives on poor dead myspace, to a list of all his releases via archive..

the pad foundation - variations on a theme

this is a very great album for a midnight hour at the beginning of the week..i just found it before tonight's midnight hour came around, and i totally fell in love with this album, while tonight's midnight hour kicked in..
it was released in late summer 2010 (and it so sounds like late summer) on uk-based swishcotheque label (great label, by the way!)
on it's release page it says, that "the concept of the album is based on the classical tradition of developing complete pieces of work based around a single musical theme. the pad foundation has worked to a similar discipline and produced an album where the tracks all have something in common[...]"
the pad foundation also comes from the uk..shortly before 'variations on a theme' was released, a bandcamp page was set up for this project..right now, three further releases can be downloaded for free there..
in early 2010, 'the pad foundation' contributed a track to a compilation and the first release on italy-based label gatti rossi che cadono..go here for their back catalogue at archive..
and enjoy 'variations on a theme', and this and all further midnight hours, which need to contain this album..

[b?_05] to [b?_35] can be downloaded directly from their homepage..the first 4 releases are either deleted or temporarilly offline..

well, last two weeks, i didn't fell like posting something here, or just forgot about it..anyway, it's sunday afternoon now and i just listened to this ep two times in a row, it's a great ep..
it lasts around 12 minutes and was recorded by a guy called porn antler..haven't found much info on him, except for his bandcamp page, saying that he comes from st. louis, missouri and a page on tumblr, he obviously doesn't use much..
anyway, 4 great tracks on this ep..another track called 'goth queen of the prom' was released a bit earlier..

well, here is a pretty amazing 5-track ep by sutton duwey (link will direct you to his page on facebook..haven't found a myspace or homepage)..
this ep was self-released via bandcamp about a month ago..
and i don't know, how i should describe it..do i ever describe music here? no!
it just totally kicked in, sometime between 9 and 10 pm tonight, especially second track, 'sunken plastic', and i thought you should really listen to this..
on his facebook page, sutton dewey made a great descriptions himself..
sounds like girl talk and j dilla having really bad sex.
and on a recent posting concerning this ep, he writes, that he sampled "everybody from snoop to billy joel to miles davis to rihanna"..
and on the last track, suzanne vega..

very beautiful album/ep, i just found after coming home, two hours ago..
it came out on first of may this year, on the italy-based laverna label..
laverna exists about 6 years already, and by now they already put out 37 releases..
emanuele errante also comes from italy. he releases music under 'emanuele errante' since 2005 (he released an album called 'stand' as 'mais' on maetrixsolution in 2004..
after releasing the absolute ep as emanuele errante in 2005, also on maetrixsolution, he put out cds on apegenine records (2006) and somnia (2008)..
on his homepage, emanuele errante announces some up-coming music..
a release by 'herion', a trio consisting of him, enrico coniglio and elisa marzorati, which is out these days on hypnos..
in early 2011, there will be releases by emanuele errante on karaoke kalk and lidar productions..
for now, here is 'gouache'...

cute gangsta crew - international love

today, a new release came out on fresh yo!, one of the best and sexiest netlabels at the moment!
this one is a 3-track ep by the cute gangsta crew, kind of an international supergroup, consisting of a smile for timbuctù from italy, infinite livez from the uk, shex and hiyoko mame (both japan), frau kraushaar from germany and suzywan from france..
suzywan also owns fresh yo! and i'm really looking forward to whatever's next on the label..
the cute gangsta crew was formed in the spring of 2007..i remember recording their 'love is love' track analogically from the cgc myspace player back then, and after that, it became something like an all-time favorite for me..it is the second track on this ep, by the way, and if you should ever be in need of a last track for a mixtape, or while djing, or whatever..take 'love is love' by the cute gangsta crew!
make sure to check out other projects, in which the 'cute gangstas' are involved..

truman peyote - light-lightning

i really spent the whole evening with digging digging digging for new music. found amazing stuff, found stuff which was ok, and then, i found this one..
and for me, right now, it's the best thing i could imagine to listen to, during a midnight hour like this..
light-lightning was released as a cd-r on whitehaus family record in may 2009..don't know how many copies there were, but as 'truman peyote' says on his myspace page, the cd-r is all sold-out..but the album is now free to download at archive..and you should really download it, because it is so beautiful, crazy, sexy..and might or should be the perfect soundtrack for your up-coming weekend, no matter if you are going to spend it alone or not..will be perfect for both ways, i'm sure..
in march 2010, truman peyote released a split 7'' with turtle ambulance on breakfast of champs which also includes the 'new wife new life' track, also on 'light-lightning'..
about a month later, a split 12'' with many mansions called 'peaced together' was released on whitehaus..i think, by now, you can still buy both two releases..
and here is the 'light-lightning' album..have a great and a wild weekend!

a yellow line - in memory of...

this very ep was among some downloads, i forgot to unpack last night before sleeping, so i did it in the earlier evening today..and it was the first music i listened to this evening, and i got totally enchanted by it!
and still, i'm enchanted, this ep really is something very special..it was released about exactly two years ago, in early november 2008, as the 6th release of the stereo-type label..
a yellow line is david cardona and he comes from ciudad ojeda, zulia, venezuela, and this seems to be his latest and only release..a split with zul came out in early 2007, according to his blog on myspace, but i couldn't find much info on it..
anyway, 'in memory of...' is an amazing ep and i really hope that there will be further stuff out someday, by 'a yellow line'..
enjoy this one, and make sure to have it with you, when winter really kicks in..

brit benjamin - il pleut

found this one about two hours ago, while surfing a bit on cllct and it's so amazing..seems to be the latest release by brit benjamin, a singer-songwriter from california, living in orléans, france now..
she sings about that in the album's first song 'france thinks im on drugs', which is my absolute favorite track on it..in the last hour i listened to it ten times or so..and i so love the lyrics..and they include one the best lines in a song ever for me.."people should be nicer to aliens"..
anyway, i'm still so happy to have found this album tonight, and with it, brit benjamin's discography and universe..
and i'm still downloading and listening into her other releases. downloading is always a bit annoying at cllct, because there normally are no archives and you have to download every track individually, but in this case, it was so worth it!
earlier this year, brit benjamin did a daniel johnston cover album called 'brit covers daniel', which is very very beautiful too..make sure, you will get this one too!
it's up on bandcamp too, by the way..
and here is the 'il pleut' album, one of the best things, i've heard in the past weeks..
it includes two cover versions, by the way...the crystal's 'he hit me' and 'shake sugaree' by elisabeth cotton..on the latter one, brit benjamin changed most of the lyrics and both cover versions feature vocals by jason cabitac..
as you might know, i usually don't write much about genres or stuff of the releases i post here, but the tags that were given on the album's release page were so appropriate, so i just want to recite them..

this 3-track ep came out about a week ago, on bfw recordings, being already the label's 84th release..
i couldn't find much info or other recordings by california-based the danger girl starship, though on his blog on myspace, there is an album mentioned, which he puts together. also, on his page at last fm, an album called a artwork full of life of a young boy's view: the best of the danger girl starship... is listed, didn't find it anywhere though, but five of the eleven tracks can be downloaded there..
another release exists on cllct, which is a 2-track collaboration with i am esper called 'interzone/savanna', very nice ep, too!
looking forward to more stuff from 'the danger girl starship'..the 'teenager ep' was totally perfect for this early sunday evening..

ballpen - the dreams trilogy

this was released about two weeks ago on roma-based la bèl netlabel, which more and more becomes one of my favorite labels (from their five releases, they have out so far, i posted three here on hefty shit)..
this one is an album by alessandro coronas a.k.a. ballpen from margine rosso, cagliari, ítaly..
three people are featured on it, f.s. blumm (with whom he also plays in a "creepy dub trio", together with luca fadda), laura mura and bruna lilly..
this album is all about (his) dreams..on the release page at la bèl, he writes that "the way the songs are composed is similar to what i’ve experienced in my dream so far.." and that "this album has been recorded inside a cardboard box"..
in a posting on his myspace blog he talks about that when he first wrote this music, he "wanted it to travel the world, to get inside houses, rooms, parks, toilets, beds etc" and he would like to receive photos of people listening to 'the dreams trilogy'..
"you shoot a picture of yourself listening to the bp album wherever you are and whatever you're doin"
maybe you should do him this favor, i would do so, if i had a camera..
'the dreams trilogy' is also available at the free music archive..

evenings - north dorm ep

i downloaded this wonderful ep some hours ago, just in time, because at least here in berlin, some saturday evening rises at the moment, and i have no idea if it's going to be a great saturday evening, probably not, but at least i have this ep now..
evenings is a project from palmyra/charlottesville, virginia, and this is probably the first release, which came out via bandcamp in late june 2010..
you can download the 320 mp3 version from mediafire, by clicking the cover below..if you want flac or alac files, or just want to support this great project, you can buy it for five bucks at bandcamp..the free version is no longer available there, as nathan from 'evenings' explains on the site:
"because bandcamp has recently become evil, i uploaded the ep to mediafire.", meaning that the amount of free downloads got (rather) limited at bandcamp recently and artists, who want to give away their music for free, have to pay for further free downloads(!)..
anyway, these are 5 very beautiful tracks and you should really have them with you, whenever evenings come around and you are in need for some illumination..
or like someone wrote on evening's facebook page yesterday, "i listen to your ep whenever I go for a 2am ride on my bike. I love it."..

well, here is a very great 1-track digital single, that just was released two days ago..and this track is so weird and amazing, i just listened to it five or six times in a row, without even realizing, i was hitting play again and again in my traktor software..
it came out on a new netlabel called [$$$] or 'money money money' and seems to be the label's first release..
julia ladense runs the very great tape/cdr/digital label afternoons modeling and is also pretty active for i had an accident records..both labels released stuff by julia ladense (her 'pussy willow' album on 'ihaa' is an extreme masterpiece, sold out, but you can download it from the very nice ribsout blog), among many other great artist..
check those pages, it is listed exactly, how much tapes or cds are still available and where you can get the downloads, otherwise..
and here is the 'poppin' that ass' single..
i made a rar archive with the 320 mp3 version and the cover and re-uploaded it to megaupload..there are also 16- and 24-bit flac versions on the $$$ page..

this here is the third album by menorca-based snowman lost his head..it came out in late july 2010 on webbed hands records and seems to be their latest release at the momemt..
the project exists since 2006, i think, having its debut on the modisti netlabel with the the dharma projeckt and released its second album 'monster' in september 2008, also on 'webbed hands'..
'l'equilibrista sense equilibri' worked so perfectly for me this afternoon, and i'm sure it will do the same, during a couple of other afternoons or nights, up-coming winter will bring.

maura r. - months & rush hours

well, something special for tonight!
just found this one in the afternoon and i totally love it. it was self-released by maura r. via archive about 2 weeks ago. these 11 tracks are "a selection of the tracks that sound like songs" out of "lots of sound sketches, long soundscapes and abstract sounds", like she writes in the release notes. all of them were recorded in berlin, in 2009. if you browse her on archive, you will see, she already released a lot of stuff and also played in several bands and projects, like 'veraenderungsjaguar' or 'die armen tiere', organized great and memorable shows and parties as part of the glas institut, and did a weekly radioshow with the diy church on radio23..
maura r. left berlin for france and travelling..
shorty before leaving, she released a tape on tyyny tapes..it's a c-30 tape called 'u8', kind of a homage to the berlin subway line of the same name..the tape is amazing, by the way..only 20 copies were released lately..a few are left..if you are really lucky and/or quick you might even be able to still obtain a copy..cute little bags, hand-sewn by tyynyliina, who owns 'tyyny tapes', will be included..if you want to order a tape, click the image below, to get to tyyny tapes' myspace, and ask tyynyliina if a 'u8' tape is still available..

'forgotten mornings' is an incredible ep, which was self-released by wolf burn in july 2010. it features 5 short sphery tracks, sometimes there are beats, a bit more than 10 minutes only, altogether, but very beautiful!
'wolf burn' comes from davis, california and seems to be around for quite a while. on his bandcamp page, where i found this ep, some days ago, there is another ep from 2002, which is called 'quiet coast'. this ep is also very nice! really 2002? :)

nihilist assault group - russian american ep

exactly one week ago, this wonderful release came out..
and it's all a bit confusing for me, at the moment..and i have not found much info on the project..of course, it's an old track by stereolab and obviously some other bands and projects are or were around, using the same name..
this one seems to come from coimbra, portugal, at least, this is the city tag at the release's page at bandcamp..
the 'russian american ep' was also released on two labels, one being the portugal-based música pop desempregada (which means something like 'the unemployed pop music movement', like it says on the bio section on their homepage)..mdp just started this year's june, having already done 9 releases by now..you should check out the other releases, most of them are pretty cool!
it's also coming out (not yet up, though, by now..) on the great amdiscs label from new york..
don't know why two labels are involved at the same time, but both are totally great labels!
and this is a totally great ep! dig it!

t'um - is that you?

i first came across t'um (that's a myspace page, isn't it?) about a year ago, when i first listened to two releases by them..'monochromes vol.1' (which was out on line in june 2009) and 'domenica / novembre' (which was released on the 'ers label'..kind of a now in-active staalplaat sister-label, in 2002)..
t'um is rossano polidoro and emiliano romanelli from italy, and since they don't seem to like mypsace (which i really appreciate, because it sucks more and more), here is their official homepage..you will see, they have done a lot of stuff so far..
and here is an ep, they released in summer 2008 on the portugal-based media-label crónica..though a lot of the crónica output are cd and vinyl releases, or otherwise very limited prints, there are some audio releases, which are free to download, like this one.. (there is a short text on crónica's myspace that will tell you more about the label's history and origin) ..which was recorded live at 'vico santa chiara studio', italy..in august 2007, almost two years, before this ep was released..
and it's amazing, like everything else, i heard so far by t'um..
on the ep's release page there is a very limited edition (10 pieces!) of the 'unique clouds' rubber stamps by miguel leal mentioned, which were used for the 'is that you?' cover..in case they are not sold out by now, you can order one of these stamps here, for 125 euros..
anyway, here is the 'is that you?' ep..
once more, beautiful breakfast music at 'hefty shit'..or otherwise, something very special for after-midnight-excursions..hope you enjoy these tracks, no matter where you will be..and how late it will get..while listening to them..

akey - feel

even more breakfast music..and this ep became very special for me, during last weekend..
it's by akey from japan, and came out in may 2010, on the portugal-based mimi records..here is the label's offical page, and they did 152 releases so far! i came across that label a couple of times in the past months, and though i have not downloaded all their releases yet, everything that i have listened to from their catalogue, was somehome pretty cool, or amazing, or just mind-blowing..
akey's 'feel ep' is both for me, by the way, amazing and very mind-blowing.. especially the third track on it, 'fallenleaves'..which reminds me of autumn, which reminds me of now..
and the 'feel ep' will always remind me of now, autumn 2010..these 4 tracks already have so coded this year's early autumn, for me..though it's not more than a week, since i listened to it for the first time..
and though i will never make lists like 'best tracks of 2010' or shit like that..the 'fallenleaves' track would be definitely on it!

found this one some nights ago, beautiful and rather quiet ep from summer 2009..came out on editora do porto, very nice label, based in portugal.
did not find much information about 'fora', except for the 'god goes wireless' blog, which seems to be the homebase for 'fora', 'postnein' and 'ward81'..a lot of tracks from these three projects can be listened to on the page, not downloadable though..except for god goes wireless' first official release, the 'iv' ep by ward81..
a lot of great releases at editora do porto, by the way..and here, their page at myspace..

go-qualia - girl of synesthesea (chapter 1 + 2)

here are the first 2 eps from the very nice bunkai-kei label from japan. it is a release called 'girl of synsthesea' by go-qualia, that was issued in two chapters.
chapter 1 came out in mid-may 2010, chapter 2 about two months later..
at the moment, there are four releases more already at bunkai-kei, and i'm really looking forward to their next output.
go-qualia also did some other releases..there was 'soine kawaiine tanzmusik' on novier records and the 'fantasia for child in me' album on altema records..
there is another go-qualia album on tsukasa records, but the site seems to be down, and i can't read it anyway, because it's all in japanese..the tracks from 'tsukasa de construction' can be downloaded from last fm, but only 128kbit/s mp3s there, unfortunately..
anyway, this is a great project, and the 'bate midi 4 too_a buried motif 2' track from 'chapter 1' just became a delayed 2010 summer-hit for me..

aboombong - amnemonic

well, last day of september, 100th hefty shit posting..i don't feel like a long anniversary article..i just wanted to show you this album, because i think, it's my favorite album, that came out this month and a perfect one for the 100th posting..
it was self-released by 'aboombong' on his bandcamp page, on 11th september.
with searching and digging hard for new music all the time, there is so much great stuff from all genres and all parts of the world, coming onto my hard-drive and into my head, almost every day. a lot of it has not reached much people yet, which is one reason, i guess, why i'm doing this blog. but also with the rather huge amount of music, there are often a lot of amazing releases, i find in the one night, totally falling in love with them, but i can't remember the band or the album or the label or the folder, to where i saved it, one or two weeks later. that's another and the main reason for the hefty shit blog. maybe some kind of diary, like i also make a mixtape, almost every month, just to remember all the music later, and maybe to show it to some people, who haven't discovered this music yet, and in case they're gonna like it, maybe it will make them happy, at least for some moments.
anway, when i first listened to aboombong's 'asynchronic' album, earlier this year, i was sure, i had found something very special, which i would never forget, because of a whole lot of other great releases, that would excite me in the next few hours. after the first few minutes of the opener 'never been to konono' (wonderful title, by the way, and a beautiful homage to a band, i pretty fell in love with in summer 2008, i won't name it, haha), after the first tracks on the album, after listening to it again and again, i knew that this music would accompany me from now on, just like the music of stereolab, sonic youth, beat happening or bailter space has been doing, since i listened to it for the first time, when i was still pretty young.
well, then of course, i listened to asynchronic's predecessor, the self-titled album, that was out in june 2009 and when i saw, about 2 weeks ago, that there was already a new aboombong album out, i was pretty happy and excited about the news..and it's just as great as the other two albums..if you don't know aboombong by now, it's high time to dive into his great music..
all four aboombong releases on bandcamp (there's another one, which is kind of a remix-collaboration together with fez dispenser), can be downloaded for free..you can name your price though and pay whatever you can for the music..which you should, because it's so worth it, and you also pay for other stuff, which is not always worth it, is it? also, bandcamp has a limited amount of free downloads for the artists or labels there, 500 to be exactly, which is not pretty much, and after that, the artists or the labels have to pay for further free downloads..and this shouldn't happen, i think.
aboombong also writes on the download-note of his releases, that a "first aboombong purchase of $5 or more will provide you with an access code for exclusive bonus material not otherwise available"..so..
like i always do with free bandcamp releases, i just re-upload them, so it won't cost the artists any money, if someone downloads their music, after having found it posted here. click the cover to get to the megaupload page, where the 320kbit/s version of the album is waiting for you..

sonicbrat - quiet windows

well, today was kind of my breakfast music day and it slowly comes to an end..not just yet though, because i really want to show you this wonderful album..
sonicbrat comes from singapore and his 'quiet windows' album came out in march 2009, the very month in which i turned 30, being still one and a half years away, from first listening to this masterpiece.
it was co-released by f|m records (from singapore, being their second release) and nephelai label (from china, being their third release)..
visit also nephelai's blog and read the momentary first article there and also this one, written by ZhangJW from the bypass netlabel..it's a strange and fucked up world, isn't it?
but this album really made me smile during the midnight hour, tonight..and i want to thank all the people that were involved in releasing it, so i and maybe also you were able to find it, after one and a half years..
there's another sonicbrat album called 'silent audiographies', i also fell in love with that one, in the past 2 hours..it also came out on f|m records/nephelai, in late 2009, and was re-issued this year on the very nice totokokolabel, being their 4th release.

Behind every window, there is a story... some musings, and little secrets. This is mine. “Quiet Windows” draws inspirations from little things in my life. Some good ones, and some depressing. From reminiscing a certain past, to simply looking at condensation on my window panes on a cold day, staring out at the myriads of listless concrete high-rise flats; and behind each of those windows, perhaps another pair of eyes are staring out too.

They say no man is an island, but I’ve stayed alone in close solitude for almost three years, hardly out of the house, I began to remember myself, discovered new self doubts and almost gave up on music. I am glad I stayed on, and “Quiet Windows” is a landmark in my life for that.

well, once more beautiful breakfast music.
this came out in july 2009, on the audiotalaia label, and it includes 2 rather long and very nice tracks, recorded in february 2009, by ann deveria from madrid, spain.
ann deveria is the project of angel and jose, like it says on their myspace page. they also released an ep called 'sant pedro' on error lo-fi in august 2008 and the 1-track release 'patio de luz' on yoyo pang! (which might have become one of my favorite tracks for this year's autumn..definetely also download the yoyo pang track!)
there are 3 limited 3-inch cds by ann deveria, which still can be bought at diskpol..
and here is their blog..all written in spain, so i couldn't understand much of it..
looking forward to hear more stuff by those guys!

whats left - speedstar ep

very beautiful ep, i just found some hours ago. it came out more than 7 years ago, in april 2003, on the now long inactive 'tokyo trauma' label.
you really should have a look at the label's page. you will find all 11 tokyo trauma releases, the first two (including
whats left's debut ep) were released on very limited vinyl, added later to the catelogue at archive.
whats left was a project by david lichtenberger and thomas herlth, who also played together in the band 'rockoutfit' (a release by rockoutfit, from later 2003, can also be found at tokyo trauma). on the short release-note, david lichtenberger (who also owned tokyo trauma) tells that the tracks on the 'speedstar ep' have their origin in piano samples from the rockoutfit recordings.
all of this happened long before myspace, facebook and the whole web 2.0 shit exploded, so there are no pages for any of these projects.
tokyo trauma's last release came out in june 2005. it is grischa lichtenberger's debut release called 'die wiederholung der geschichte der amerikanischen heimatlosigkeit'..you should get that one too, it is amazing.

anastasia vronski - the parade

after midnight now, and a very special track/release that was just out, some days ago, on electro rucini from portugal, by russian artist anastasia vronski...the 'electro rucini' label is around since late 2007, and this release is its latest one, at the moment..and already the label's 95th release, so far..
here is the electro pucini homepage, though it seems, it was not updated since relase number 90..all further releases are available and linked on the label's myspace page though, or on its page at archive, where all the releases are hosted..
there is no myspace or anything to be found for anastasia vronski, but 3 other releases by her came out already on 'electro rucini'..the sputnik ep, in june 2010..the intruder ep, that was released sometime in spring of 2010..and the drowner ep, released in late 2009..
last one's archive page provides a further link to her debut-ep called 'the spell' that was out on the 'date with a corpse' label, sometime in 2009...

memoryhouse - the years ep

could really be, i have found a new band tonight, that might become one my favorite bands of these times, someday soon...
at the very end of 2009, i found their digital 7" on beko-dsl..and this ep here, just some hours ago, though it must have been out, only a few hours after new year's eve of 2009..someone, probably the arcade sound ltd label, where this ep came out, created this archive, on first of january 2010, at 12:44 pm exactly..i find that pretty amazing!
because so, it's probably the first release of 2010, at least, the first memorable one..
this ep, by the way, includes both tracks from the 'beko' single..
and when i started to play it, it struck me, because i thought, wow, i know this track so well, and it meant so much to me, already..i thought for some seconds, and it came into my mind, that it was the last track on jay electronica's great 'style wars ep', what i was thinking of..jay's track is directly titled 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind'. i think you remember the film, don't you? great film!
the soundtrack was done by jon brion and both, jay electronica and memoryhouse sampled his 'phone call' track from the soundtrack..and both created wonderful tracks with 'phone call' as kind of a basic for them..
memoryhouse's track containing the sample, is the second track on this ep, by the way..it's the first one playing though, when i put the folder into winamp..because the first one seems not to be tagged properly..
well, tags, who really cares..these are 4 wonderful tracks, and this one, i think, is one of this year's greatest ep's...and you should really listen very carefully to it, if you have not done already..
my favorite track on this ep is 'to the lighthouse'...and i love the lyrics..
"[...sometimes i'm pulled away
from my own misery,
your hands cover me,
eyes drift slowly...
sleep the summer chill...]"(!)
hey, just have a listen for yourself, you will find out, that these tracks are somewhat and totally magic..
visit the memoryhouse myspace page, too..and if you are lucky, you can still get a copy of the second pressing of their 'lately 7 inch' that was released by new york-based inflated records..give it a try!

today i found the 'pulsations for you' label, by accident..'pulsations for you' is/was a russia-based net-label, sub-label of dars records. both labels seem to be in-active since at least almost two years, by now..
last release on 'pulsations for you' came out in late november of 2008..this one here, a few months earlier, on 10th august of 2008..and it just kicked in and i really like this album, so i wanted to show it to you..
the tracks are tagged with 'sourkream' as artist, the real name seems to be 'sowrkream', though..here is the sowrkream's myspace page..and when i clicked to visit sourkream/sowrkream's last fm profile, i found out, that there is another album called 'kuntt', which can be downloaded directly from its page at last fm (didn't find out yet, if there is another source for it)..
anyway, here is the 'from the mellow lenses lab' album..enjoy!

this one came out this year's july on the very nice and rather new (exists since february 2010) feedback loop label from lisboa, portugal.
it's an ep with 2 long tracks..one is called 'absence', the other 'the big empty'..and i did not find a myspace or homepage of 'i've lost', click here for the release page at archive and some further info..
feedback loop label used to host their music at bandcamp, but since "bandcamp decided to start charging for extra downloads for free downloads eps" (from their blog), they moved to archive.org, some days ago..
on the feedback loop's blog you will also find all the other releases there (7 so far), as well as some videos..
here is the 'dissociative fugue' ep..copy it to your mp3 player, for midnight walks, and use it as a soundtrack for next breakfasts..like i said, this is breakfast music!

alright, before leaving the 1-track-single-mode again, i'm gonna show you another great 1-track-single, which just came out during this weekend.
it was released on the fantastic fresh yo! label, which was just started, about a month ago, by suzywan (have a look at her page, to find out more about her work, listen to her music, and so on..)
anyway, i have no idea, who rich and stu (or 'richie and stuwart', like the track is tagged) are, and there is no link or info given on the the release page at 'fresh yo!' either. but the track is at least 3 and a half years old, by now. i found it more or less by accident, on some page, that was somehow connected or linked to or from suzywan's page. i downloaded the track (can also be that i recorded it analogically from the player and back to my notebook..), that was on 10th of may 2007, during the midnight hour, and from then on, i played it very very often while djing and a lot of people were asking me what crazy shit that was. i just said "that's 'richie and stuart who are having a party together'..", like the project was called back then. and this is exactly what the track sounds like, like a great and mad party. 'we are going to ibiza' is a 'venga boys' cover version, by the way...
don't forget to create a bookmark for the fresh yo! label on your browser, and also download the first release (or so to say, the first 3 releases) from the label..it's a 3-disc-compilation, with altogether 17 artists remixing suzywan's 'wOAw powerful' track, click here to get on its release page..

blackbird blackbird - fade to white

well, yet another finding from bandcamp..this time, it's a very very short 'ep', it's more just one track. but i just fell heavily in love with it, earlier today and wanted to show it to you.
blackbird blackbird is a band from san francisco, who already recorded a lot of ep's and just released their first full-length album 'summer heart' on wonder beard tapes, limited to 100 copies, if you are quick and lucky, you might still be able to catch a tape..the album can also be bought digitally via their bandcamp page, on which also this ep/track can be found..both have just been uploaded there yesterday, another ep (which is for free download), called 'modern disbelief', ten days earlier and the 'rarities ep' in early july..
they also released a split-7-inch with pao pao on uk-based double denim records..you can buy it here for five pounds..
i told you, they already recorded and released a lot of stuff!
but there is even more to find on another bandcamp page called 'byebye blackbird'..probably the former bandname of 'blackbird blackbird', though all of the releases there (eg two free ep's from spring 2010 and the title track of 'summer heart') are listed as 'blackbird blackbird'..
anyway, if you haven't already, enjoy listening to blackbird blackbird..and maybe, just start with their amazing 'fade to white' track!

the great valley - holiday, holinight ep

well, here is another amazing release, i found on bandcamp, recently..
(it was released on first of june 2010..)
and did you know, that a tag exists on bandcamp, that's called 'spooky'? you won't find it by browsing through the bandcamp tags, but actually, some people are really tagging their music as 'spooky'..that made me smile, and happy..
and with this release, it's even kind of true, because this one really sounds spooky, in a very special way..
after all, it just sounds fucking great!
on the great valley's myspace page, it says, they are coming from 'above new york', and they are connected to, and released stuff on the spooky town label (which might explain the 'spooky' tag, but i hope it's not the main reason for it!)..
there was a split 12'' out on 'spooky town' with prince rama, in may 2009 (you can still order it!), as well as two tapes, also released via 'spooky town', in earlier 2009, and in late 2008, which now can also be downloaded for free..just visit their bandcamp page, there you will find all this stuff, this ep too..
i re-uploaded it (as i always do, with the releases from bandcamp) to megaupload..
when i opened the archive, and saw that the first track on the ep was called 'born again', i thought of the title track of a rather late 'black sabbath' album, maybe even expected a cover version of it..and i remembered listening to this black sabbath track, when i was 13 or so, and how spooky i found it, back then, for some reasons..but it's not spooky at all, compared to the great valley's 'born again' track...
you should really dig their music, and i really would like to see them playing live. come to berlin, someday!

'blues for spacegirl' is thomas de bauw from leuven, belgium. on his myspace page, it says, that 'blues for spacegirl' exists since mid-2008, having released an ep called 'august ep', a split with fibroma from georgia, usa, and this album here, which came out in december 2009.
all 3 releases can be downloaded for free from his bandcamp page, as well as from his page at jamendo..

i found this amazing release two days ago and it totally blew my mind. it is by xegovia from la boca, argentina and was released in december 2009, on the amazing animal fact label..
unfortunately only 128 kbit/s mp3s, on the version i found, hosted on archive.org, since a rapidshare link for the album given on their (or some releated) homepage (which is very nice, but i can't read it..same with the fdacma blog) doesn't work anymore.
but you should definetely get it, it is an awesome release!
and i found a compilation called 'compilado deforme', which includes two other tracks by xegovia..you can download this compilation here..
anyway, enjoy this release by xegovia..

this one's pretty short, under 15 minutes..
and there is something about the second track on it, that can really freak you out..
i guess, it will become one of those tracks, that will remind me of late summer 2010, much later on..
this ep was recorded by giovanni marks a.k.a. subtitle, in august and september of 2010..so, it's totally fresh!
he is part of the briefcase rockers collective (or the 'b.e.a.r. group')...have a look at their page for some more cool releases, videos and stuff..

well, september has come around, and with it, some new great releases. don't know how far i will come, with posting in the next days, but i definitely want to show you this ep. it just came out, during the last days of august, on true call software.
it's a collaboration between tyynyliina and audio_z..rather short ep (26 minutes), includes 5 very beautiful tracks..
after her 'nach dem rauschen' album and the 'flecken ep', i posted both on the 'hefty shit' blog here and here, it is already tyynyliina's third work on the true call label.
between the 'flecken ep' and this one, tyynyliina also provided tracks for 2 very great compilations, one being the 'we are one' compilation on section27, the other the amazing 'no-r-mal II' 100th-release-anniversary compilation on just not normal.
lithuania-based audio_z has done releases on labels like the now in-active surfaces and on zeromoon.

kyle landstra comes from grand rapids, michigan, calling himself the 'michigan's ministre of drone' on his myspace page..there you will also find an earlier release called 'recurring dreams', which was out, about half a year earlier, in april 2009, also released by wise owl records, and also pretty great..i would suggest, download both releases now, and listen to it during sleeping, and during next breakfast..like i said before, breakfast music!

well, here is a very great and hefty ep, by the berlin-based formation vogelstrauss.
it was self-released by the band, sometime in 2009, only on their last fm page, at least i did't find another option to download it. therefore only 128 kbit/s mp3's, unfortunately, but you should listen to this anyway!

playberlin and tamtamtam collective.

about an hour ago, i accidentelly came across this great album again. and it totally kicked in! i am not quite sure, when i downloaded and first listened to it. could be last summer, could be longer than that. the files in the archive were made on 2nd of february 2009...
this album was released on the very great
ivdt label (illmatik vibes delete thought) and it is the first album by edison.
while writing this, the ivdt page is being reconstructed, therefore only the latest 6 (from more than 70) releases are online, by now..edison's 'not what ships are built for' album is among them, being the 69th release on ivdt.
there is a second album mentioned on
edison's tumblr page, that is called 'all information at hand', and which came out on the 'kid without radio' label..can be bought here for 10 bucks..
edison is also a member of papervehicle, who self-released 2 albums so far, which can directly be bought on their myspace page..

tanner menard - you had not changed but your cameras were no longer identical

so, before the midnight hour will kick in, one more release, which i have found during the earlier evening..
and it includes only one track, one pretty long (almost 24 minutes) and so intense track. this release is very beautiful, deep, and hefty shit, and like always, my description will end here. find out for yourself, what it really is, or will be, for you..
like i wrote in an earlier posting today, this summer comes to an end now, and even though, this ep came out in february (this year), listening to it, so feels like merry summer walkabouts, in the middle of the night.
tanner menard recorded this beautiful track, and it became the 7th release on high linear music..
you should definetely check out this label..and download their other releases as well! they are doing a very great job with that label..
for now, 'you had not changed but your cameras were no longer identical' by tanner menard..
the bio section on this page, as well as his myspace page, seems to not have been updated in the past months (at least this release has not yet been added)..maybe have a look on his page at discogs for his complete (?) works..
i want to conclude this posting with an excerpt of the info text, that came with the archive, written by tanner menard, and concerning the release's title, which i loved from the beginning..

The title, based on a dream in which i encounter a friend whom i have never met, is in itself a poetic expression that emphasizes the bleak beauty of my inner landscapes. In the dream, i am riding on my childhood school bus; my friend is in the school yard taking photos and i notice that there is not one but two of him. As i look closer, i can not tell which is which, but his cameras are no longer identical. if music can express anything, this is my attempt to forge a virtuoso exploration of raw symphonic emotion and uncompromisingly poetic romanticism.

so i downloaded some stuff there and found a real great release..
it is mad and beautiful, pretty lo-fi and exactly the kind of thing, i was hoping to find..
seems to be pretty new..'la vida moderna de lusho', from valparaíso, chile, just opened up its myspace page earlier this month..and this seems to be the first recordings by them..

weird ribs - heavy arms

that was very good news, this early afternoon, when i logged into facebook and saw on the news feed, that there is a brandnew weird ribs album..
it is the second full-lenght release, after the great 'tubes' album, that came out in january this year, and which by the way was the fourth release ever, i posted on this blog..
weird ribs is still a rather young project by joseph cox from newcastle and hull, uk. his myspace page was opened up in very late 2009, but in this short period of time, he released two albums, two eps, along with two live releases. you can find all of them at his cllct page (including mediafire links to download the complete archive)..
he also has a page at bandcamp, where at the moment the 'tubes' album, as well as 'ep2' can be downloaded in various formats, including flac and alac. probably the 'heavy arms' album will be available there too sometime.
but this version here comes with 320 kbit/s mp3s anyway.
and...you should definetely check out joseph cox's other project called 'fragile battleship'..you will find all 3 releases (also with mediafire links) on his myspace page.
so well now, here is the 'heavy arms' album. it's very beautiful and the perfect soundtrack for late summer. yeah, it's already late summer...

gorowski - i don't believe you

in the past few days, i really spent some time, listening to the wm recordings' back catalogue..and what i have found at their page, shit, they do such a great job..
and not just with the label..wm stands for weirdomusic, which is kind of their guide to "the darkest corners of the musical universe"...on this page you will get great reviews, a very huge selection of audio blogs, where you will find so much amazing music...and, maybe even the very thing, you should have been looking for..then, of course, their label pages...and they are working on the wm label since 2004, having released almost 20 cd's, among more than 100 free mp3 releases..
i picked one of them for now, because i like it so much, and it was released more than 4 years ago, in may of 2006..it's by a guy called gorowski and it is called 'i don't believe you'..it's a fucking masterpiece! his follow-up album called 'simulators can', which came out a bit more than a year after 'i don't believe you', also on wm recordings, is pretty great too..
but ok, if you have some time and patience left, as well as some free disk space, i just can suggest to really grab a lot the wm releases, and you should also order some of their cd's..
anyway, here is the 'i don't believe you' album by gorowski..

zonotope tm - cruising through the hypersphere of resonance

this is a very short (13 minutes or so) ep, but it's very great!!..and i just came across it in the earlier evening..
it's by zonotope tm and i found it on its bandcamp page..
these 6 short tracks are so matching this time now, for me, in a way, because they are so summer...and the perfect soundtrack for warm summer nights.
and even if this ep will be over in less than 15 minutes, you can repeat it..and repeat it..and repeat it..that's what i just did, three or four times.
have a great time with this one..

elisa luu - the time of waiting

this ep came out about a month ago, and i read about it, while i was at a shitty internet place, when my old notebook was dead, and my new one was not yet around..and it felt pretty bad, to know that elisa luu has a new release out, and i was not able to listen to it. so, a few days had to pass, and when i had my new notebook, this ep was one of the first things that i downloaded on my new notebook.
it was released on the la bèl netlabel, a pretty young but good label, based in roma, italy. i found it by accident, like i mostly find things, in april, and i totally liked its very first release, the gus goll love/capatùly by di bos, which i posted here..
i became a big fan of elisa luu's music, about a year ago, when i first listenend to her floating sounds ep, which came out in august 2008, as the second release of the great phantom channel label..
the 5 tracks on this ep are again totally beautiful..and funny, how the title worked for me then, in a way, because i was really waiting hard to listen to this ep..and for my new notebook.

well, it's been a while, almost a month, since my last posting here..
my old notebook died, my new one arrived this monday..in the end it was not so bad and i watched a lot of films in the meantime..
and looked forward to the moment, when i would be able again to dig for new sounds at last..
it's late now and i'm not too much in a writing mood, but i think this ep is a great one to continue with the hefty shit blog finally..
it probably came out on 22th of july, accidentely the last day i had with my old notebook. it came out on toronto-based orchid tapes as a very limited tape-release..10 copies (!)..you should check out this label..maybe order a tape or two..and if not, there are free download links for every release on their page..
and here is this tape. 8 tracks, 20 minutes, by felix tengen..
6th track is called "the original mouth remains wordless", and it's kind of the centerpiece of this ep for me, and when the beat kicks in around 0:47..this is a very magic moment..and i really fell in love with this ep during tonight's midnight hour..

my pet zombie frank is wolfseule and richard wilmer, and i listened to their tracks on myspace every now and then, until then finally, this release was out..on richard wilmer's label arew recordings, which just started some months ago..in very late 2009, with the real great 'indistince passages and encounters' compilation..now, only 7 months later, this one is already the 17th release on arew recordings..and to be honest, i did not download every of the arew releases, later perhaps i will..but i knew rather from the beginning, that this label is pretty special, and the release by 'my pet zombie frank', well it is, wanna guess?, very very hefty shit!
it even seems to be kind of a concept album. about various pets (more or less pets), which are getting intoxicated in various ways..and, it is a great album! because of my fucking neighbors here, i'm more or less forced to listen to it again via headphones, but it sounds so great and i can even be closer to it with the headphones..
and, by the way, you really should have a look at wolfseule's and richard wilmer's other works and projects..which are a lot..and you will find a lot of great stuff..
for example, richard wilmer's other projects lienullnoyz or hadeanera (with ethan vilu who also does the very amazing white noise organisation project .. white noise organisation recently did a great ep on weird and wired, the label wolfseule co-owns, and where some very great wolfseule releases came out, like the power pole hugger album, which i already posted here, or the unverdauliche skizzen album, the very first weird and wired release ever...there are some others, like transferring to being reasonable, which was out on illphabetik, or the great collaboration, she did with euhedral on the true call label, about one year ago..
and...really make sure to listen to one of her latest tracks, 'der einsame ameisenbär' on her myspace page..yeah, wolfseule is amazing!
and you see, you won't need to find any other music for the remaining weekend..no matter what will still be happening tonight..or tomorrow, whatever it will be, it will be ok..

pablie is pau soler medina from barcelona, spain..and this here is his almost exactly 4 years old 'prelude to anything exactly specific ep', which was the 6th release on the error! lo-fi label, which is also based in spain..
pablie seems to be pretty deep into hip hop beats..but what he does here, is not really hip hop, or instrumental hip hop (how did you say, experimental hip hop?), it's just an amazing ep..which i really just have found today..it's 4 years old, shame on me, but anyway..it's still early on a friday night, and it's a great ep for an early friday night, especially during this hot july..
between 2001-2005, pau soler medina was also one half of the slow peace project..on their myspace page, you can listen to some of their tracks. unfortunately, there seems to seems to be no release by them..

this one is very beautiful, and an only 15 minute-long ep, that came out in late november 2008, on the french rain music label..almost since that (there has only been one release after this one, so far), rain music seems to be on hiatus..let's hope they will be back someday..but well, they did 26 releaes, in only a bit more than 2 years, and here is one of them..
miyachan akichan are daisuke miyatani (who also released the hello again ep on rain music) and aki tomita (who also does the project rurarakiss)..the lucky star ep seems to be their first and still only collaboration..

this one is very beautiful. already over 4 years old, it came out in march of 2006 and was the 6th release of 4gm records' mp3 releases, a label from st. catharines, canada, who also releases vinyl and cds.
like it says on the release page, the music on this ep was originally composed and recorded to accompany the poetry sequence "at the end of the road, a river", which was written by chris jones..
the only michael seems to have no myspace page, but here is his official homepage. according to that, he was in a band called feeler, between 1997 and 2001, and earlier did a project called resolution..
since 2005, he has been working on a project called

this is the second ep by the stealing orchestra from portugal, and also the second release of their own label you are not stealing, a label formed by the band, in order to share their and side-project's ep's. soon it was expanded to releases by their friends. the label is still existing and active, latest release came out a while ago, this year, an ep by g.g. allin's dick, which also is a side-project (or alter ego?..at least it says on the release page "all songs by the stealing orchestra") of the band..
anyway, this one is called 'bu!' and it's so mad and sexy!

bark cat bark - mathilde

bark cat bark is a project, josh todd from paris, france did between 2004 and 2009..and he made a lot of amazing lp's and ep's in these 5 years.
it somehow was pretty hard to choose which bark cat bark release i should post here now, because all of them are great..
for example the final letters album, which came out on dedicated records in december 2009, and which is, according to his blog definitely his last 'bark cat bark' album..also the myspace page, which is still linked on his blog, does no longer exist..all of this is pretty sad, but then, there will be other projects by josh todd, i'm sure, because a person who created such masterpieces, will never stop making music..and by the way, there even is another project called 'an astrologists guide to the stars in the sky', which according to its myspace page is bark cat bark's 37 lettered side-project..so probably also limited to a certain time..there are already two eps. both of them, like a lot of bark cat bark releases, can be found and downloaded at josh todd's blog..
there are more releases, and also some other projects..they probably were out on hardware? a long list of the further releases can be found at the siren sound blog, including download links..there, unfortunately, no labels are mentioned, and even though 'bark cat bark' released so many stuff, and seems to have kind of an huge fanbase, there are no releases listed at discogs, also not for the other projects..
anyone have further info on that?
well now anyway..after all, i chose to post this 'mathilde' album here..it came out last september on scotland based sonic reverie label, and according to its release page at bandcamp, it is a soundtrack piece..i did not find out for what film this was made..if anyone knows, let me know!

taped hiss - dripping

well, this one is definitely one of the best releases, i discovered this week..and a perfect summer record too.
though, i guess, it was released last winter. on his blog, taped hiss posted it exactly on x-mas eve..
he also writes there, that this release contains more samples, than his other works. samples, he mostly made from his old tv and his old keyboard.
originally recorded on cassette.
like all his other releases, no label was involved. you can find his other stuff on the taped hiss blog, also releases by his other projects, kav & clay (the two 'everything is fine' releases by them are amazing, by the way!), and shit you're afraid of (a project with entirely improvised music, recorded on cell phones), can be found there.
earlier this year, taped hiss released a c-21 split-tape with the great neon pulse, on bathetic records, which was limited to 50 copies, and which is now sold out. but you can download the tape here..
(neon pulse uploaded and posted this on his vibes for life blog, which is a very cool blog!)

well, just a short posting, for tonight..even the dead end of night, by now..and almost, the twilight zone now..but anyway,
this summer is really about to hit hard, i guess, and to be honest, i don't appreciate those very hot kind of days in summertime..
and just by accident, i came across this wonderful ep again...
and even though i could imagine it playing, during lovely summer nights, somewhere outside, long after dark, this ep is still called "winter whitenoise"..and that sounds totally great, at the moment..for me.
synthia did this one, almost 2 years ago, on a label called mz'umf records..the link here will guide you to the label's page at archive.org..four releases are listed there...all of them came out sometime 2 years ago and the myspace link there does not function anymore..so i guess, that the mz'umf label stopped being active, already a while ago..
synthia, though, is still pretty active..
here is synthia's blog..and there are so much releases..like the soundscape architecture album that came out on time theory label on 4th of july 2009 .. or the heartclouds release that was released in february 2009 on mine, all mine! records in a 'red' and 'blue' version..there are much more..

i love the structure of this ep..there are four 'winter whitenoise' tracks (november-february), surrounded by a first and a last track, which are called 'something new to be afraid of (part one + two)'

heinali and matt finney - lemonade ep

well, almost 3 month ago, i listened to the works of heinali and matt finney for the first time..it was a thursday evening, that was about to turn into a thursday night and what i was listening to exactly, was heinali's haiku ep and later, the town line ep by heinali and matt finney (i think, this myspace page wasn't around, back then)
both releases came out earlier this year, on dedicated records..
anyway, that night, back in mid-april, i posted this and this here (i never posted 2 releases in a row, in which the same artist was involved), and this 2 releases went on, accompanying me through this year's springtime, into this year's summer..and here we are now, maybe at summer's peak..it's mid-summer now, and totally hot, at least here in berlin..
and tonight, while i was trying to write on a story, i was looking for some new music, and suddenly arrived on heinali's and matt finney's myspace page, and then on their new bandcamp page..and that's how i found their second collaboration, the 'lemonade ep', which must have been out in mid-june, about only 3 month, since their 'town line ep' was released..
and what an amazing ep they made together again! and this ep is so summer! you can even see this on the ep's cover, and, of course, in its title..at least for me, there is no bigger thing, than lemonade, during summer weeks..well ok, cola mixed with lemonade, but anyway, you will hear and feel summer within this music..and what is even more important, this ep is a fucking masterpiece! no matter what season will surround you, while listening to it!
and i don't feel like describing it, or to describe the differences to the 'town line ep' or whatever..because, things like that don't matter at all, because what matters is, if some music can be able to hit your heart, and this ep definetely is able to do that..in the weird heat of those summer days and nights..and especially while the 'pure color' track kicks in..
this ep was released by themselves, no label was involved this time, it's available here, on their bandcamp page..you can download the first six tracks manually, and the whole archive, which includes 3 bonus tracks, by naming your price, you would like to pay for it..you will get the whole archive, even if you type in 'zero bucks', which, i have to admit, i did, because i'm pretty broke at the moment.
i re-uploaded the release to megaupload..because in their myspace blog, they wrote something like 'spread the word!"
and anyway, this music is too big, to not be heard, because of being broke..who is not? but well, if you really have enough money for the next months, load some bucks to your paypal account, and pay for this very release!
by the way, the archive also includes matt finney's 'loss' book, a collection of his great poems, which first came out on dotcontemporary, being dotcontemporary's 8th release, as a pdf.
you can also download it here...matt finney's poems are very deep..and so are his vocals, once more, on the 'lemonade ep'..
well. thank you guys, once more, for all those amazing and memorable moments on this release..i definetely won't forget this one..and i'm pretty sure, it will accompany me through this year's summer, and into this year's fall time..and into a lot of nights, and mornings..in the meantime..and ever after..

tom felag - beat a confronto vol. 3

so about two hours ago, i was unzipping a lot of stuff, which i downloaded the last couple of days, and which i had not unzipped so far..and while i did this, i noticed my ragnampiza folder and it came into my mind, that it was only (or exactly) 2 months ago, that the first volume of 'beat a confronto' was out, and totally kicked in..and so i had a look at the ragnampiza page, to see, what was happening there in the meantime..time passes so quickly..
and so i found out, that there already was a 3rd volume of 'beat a confronto' out, on 19th of june..and this album is amazing!
and definetely my soundtrack for entering the midnight hourtonight..
did not find much info about tom felag, but he obviously is also bob singlayer and this is his debut album..and it's hell of a debut album!

another month just kicked in..
and a few hours earlier, i came across a very crazy project..and a very nice release..
it came out in june 2009, so about a year ago, on the very brilliant expiremental label, and it's still expiremental's latest release, so far..existing already since 2002 and run by jochen kleinhenz, expiremental is a label, you should definetely check out very thoroughly..every single one of the 25 releases, which are there right now, is something special, and like you see, expiremental had no release since over a year, but you can be pretty sure, that the next one will also be huge!
but well now, this one..a bit confusing, i didn't know what i was downloading and did not know who did it, before i put the tracks into traktor and saw their tags..
on the cover it says, 'personal pop - listen to your own song'..but actually 'personal pop' is more the album's name or the name of a project..and well, it was exsample, who recorded this, and who does this project...
just to let you know, what it's all about, i'll paste in the first part of the info on the page..

Present your friends, family and lovers a really individual gift: your song, made from your only favorite noise ... On this release there are a few selected tracks: examples for this really cool style of making customized music.

it goes on with exsample telling, that if you send him a certain personal sound/noise on file, you will get a personal exsample track within a week, that will be based on this noise you sent him..with a special designed cover..for 25 euro (inside germany) or 30 (inside euro)..for one copy..bigger editions are possible, of course..
exsample is best-known (at least for me) for his endless loop vinyl series on the great normoton label and for his special live shows, he does with those vinyls, with 3 record-players..forming new tracks and sets with those loops..again and again..
i first saw him doing that, i guess in 2003, at a nice place in regensburg, bavaria, which name i forgot, and again, last summer, at photoshop gallery in berlin..
he does a lot of other stuff, mostly photos and design issues..eg he did most of the covers for the normoton label, and anyway, you should visit his pages (here and here..last one deals more with his music stuff..)
there is also a link to expiremental's 19th release, a project he did with organ music..very nice release too, by the way..and also a bit 'hidden' like this one..because until you will see the tags, you would think the artist's name is 'für alle, die das besondere lieben', would be a great artist name too..
unfortunately, there are no archive files, which would contain the complete release, at expiremental..but believe me, it's totally worth it, to start a download for every single track there..

well..tonight something pretty special..
if you happen to have been an early teenager in the late 80's or early 90's, and had access to a computer back then, you will probably know or remember, who this guy 'leisure suit larry' or 'larry laffer' is..
i won't go into detail, because you will find plenty of info everywhere..
anyway, i really loved to play 'adventure games', a game genre that totally disappeared some years ago, at least from commercial game software..for all the bad and wrong reasons, of course..
and then, except for a lot of great gaming evenings and nights, i had with an ex-girlfriend of mine, playing heroes of might + magic 4, some years ago, and sleepless nights, i had alone, also some years ago, playing the gta III games (just for driving or flying around in there..not for much mission stuff), i never played much computer games since the mid-90's..
but every 3 or 4 years, i have some weeks, in which i really want to visit those places again..and so i install programs like scummvm or dosbox, to be able to run those old games..just to walk around a bit in there and revisit those old places, like an old friend, you hardly think of anymore, until you find him or her again, in dreams, all of a sudden. but, what is even more interesting to revisit, is the music..i needed some time, to realize that..
by the way, those weeks just came back some days ago..and with them, the music that was in those great games..
and i always loved the music of the 'leisure suit larry' adventures..i'm always bad with describing music, or finding a 'good' name or genre for it..and i like that! so i will not even try..
some days ago, i found the page of the quest studios, which features every soundtrack of the old 'sierra on-line' games for free downloads..mostly there are midi files but for most games, there is also a digital version of the soundtracks..mostly in ogg format, though..
so i took the larry soundtracks for now..converted all of them into a rather good mp3 quality and tagged all the tracks and uploaded them again at megaupload..
i didn't include 'leisure suit larry 7' here, because i never played it, so far, maybe i should play it one day, though, because it's the last larry game that was designed by al lowe..and so the very last larry game ever..don't waste any time or even money for a leisure suit larry game, in which al was not involved!
anyway, if you want to have the 'leisure suit larry 7' soundtrack..you can download it from al lowe's page..mp3 files there, by the way..

well, this beautiful 3-track ep by beau finley came out exactly one year ago, on the panda fuzz label..i just saw this, when i was looking from where i downloaded it, 2 or 3 months ago..
you should also check out some other stuff by beau finley..there are some other releases by him on the panda fuzz site and he released 2 cd-r's on the sister-label fuzzy panda (the page is not around at the moment, but maybe later)
anyway, these are 3 perfect and totally beautiful tracks for warm mid-summer nights..

this one came out in 2007 on the great
peppermill records label..wish i knew this release since 2007..but i just found it last april..and i found it again some nights ago, when i was putting together my june 2010 mixtape..and i was looking for the last b-side tracks and suddenly i listenened to the last track of the 'pudo hacerlo' album and just realized how weird and beautiful this music is..
cualquiera comes from barcelona, spain..the 'pudo hacerlo' album/ep was his second release (and according to discogs and his myspace page also his latest one), following his 2005 self-titled ep on alg-a..
most tracks are the same though, on both releases, for some reason..i havent listened carefully enough so far to the selftitled one, to be able to say if there are a differences on the tracks..
but as it was the 'pudo hacerlo' album that was one of those discoveries for me in the past week..here you go..and check out some other releases on peppermill records too..they're doing a really great job with this label!

and this is such a great ep, originally it came out on tape, on berlin-based froggy records..on 1st of november 2008...and was digitally re-released, a few very weeks later, on 15th of december 2008 on test tube net label, and hey, this ep was recorded in just one week (!), as the title says..and all of this happened such a long time ago..but this ep is still so fucking fresh..so take it!

so, i'm gonna show you an amazing later sunday evening ep now..just found this during the weekend..and it's really amazing!
came out on 11th of april this year, on
grabaciones azul alcachofa, a rather new label from madrid, spain.
(the labelname, by the way, means something like 'dark blue artichoke recordings'..i like that..)
well, the whole ep is all about a track called 'boina' by raúl querido..it was originally released two months earlier on his 'odio y muerte ep'..a videoclip was made for the track by javi senz, and le mur and the big head troubled boy made their own versions of 'boina'..(the big head troubled boy's version is my favorite track on this ep, by the way, and probably the reason why i posted it here)..together with 3 differently long versions of 'boina' and a track called 'historias de amor en la autopista', they form the boina video ep..

maatsethe - topoi und andere ansichten rev.

well..so tonight, i have an release for you, with recordings that are even older, than the ones on that ep, i posted yesterday..
this one just came out on true call software, but it is somehow a re-release of a very old and very limited cd-r-release, that was out on a cd-r label called 'kellerplatten' in 2000..
kellerplatten was kind of a predecessor of the now also inactive keplar label and this one was the 4th release on kellerplatten..back in 2000!
anyway, it's 10 years ago..and for this anniversary release now, maatsethe edited his 'topoi und andere ansichten' album a bit, which explains the 'rev.' addition that appears in the album title now..and he did a great a job with that, adding some tracks, he recorded after the original release, like the 'pavel shum' track, which is kind of the centerpiece of the album for me now..
do you remember, who pavel shum is or was?
like in the original version, the album is splitted into 2 parts..'plularismo', which is the first part of the album, and which was recorded with several analog multi-tracking devices, like maatsethe tells us in the album's folder, and 'purismo', which was recorded with only using a dictaphone (!)
and i know, i was talking about 'last tracks' every now and then here..well, this one is another one of those releases, that conclude with a special last track..
but anyway, i think, this album (be it the original version, or the 'rev.' version here) is too big and much too great, to just write shit about it..
just listen to it for yourself now!

it came out on pentachoron..already in 2001..
you should have a look at their page..and get some of the other stuff..i love it!
and here are four totally mad, rough and so fucking great tracks, recorded with an amiga 500 and a casio vl-tone 1, with lyrics by a guy called 'der yeah'..
and this ep has a running time of not even 15 minutes..but it would definetely rock your next party, just in case, of course, it will be a good party..blow your mind..and fucking kill your neighbors!

well, i guess, this is one of my most pop posting here..but also one of the most amazing postings at my 'hefty shit' blog so far..
it's an 2-track ep that was released in april 2010 on thetastates, which is the site run by cpi aka caitlyn..you should check for yourself..and also visit her dj cpi blog, where she posts a zip archive of her favorite tracks every (!) week..she must be so totally into music and digging and...into 'hefty shit'..and if she will ever read this..well thank you, caitlyn! for all this great work, energy, effort, love..and for all the music! and sure enough, for the 'thereisafire' ep..
and at this point, i must also thank a good friend of mine, dj schlucht from the glas institut, for showing me all of this..
it was sometime in late may, when he sent me these two tracks on skype..in the middle of the night...and those two tracks (especially the second one.."there is a light, but it's not for everyone") hit me so hard..
don't know, how often i listened to this second track since that..let's say, very very often..and it's just 2 weeks ago or so..feels like ages, though, or at least like a lot of months..
anyway, i was not in the mood for posting things here, during those late may days, but my blog is called 'hefty shit'..so well, this IS hefty shit..and these two tracks will always remind me of the very very days before summer 2010 kicked in, and here it is now, summer 2010..and it's just happening..at this very moment and..it's even growing bigger with every day...and, come on, try your best, to get some kicks out if it (i think, you will, eh?)..and here, is the "thereisafire" ep..

wow, it's almost a month ago, since my last posting here..anyway, summer kicked in, in the meantime..and for my first june posting here, i have a perfect sphery and dreamy summer album. came out in february 2009 on
12rec and it's absolutely beautiful.
i have never heard of portabot before and there is obviously no myspace page but here is portabot's homepage. no entry though, except the info on this release. but on the release page at bandcamp it says that portabot is césar pesquera, who also did a project called 'shudo' with which he released two albums on the now inactive quatermass records label at the beginning of this decade..
i totally liked the title of this release by portabot, and it reminded me of a time about 4 or 5 years ago, and of an ex-girlfriend, who studied law and she had to read so much books on law and stuff and so one day, i asked her.."how do all these books end?"..and so she showed me..they just ended, which made me a bit sad. i told her that i totally miss something there..something like a crash or some fulfillment, or just a memorable sunset.
it's not a sunset that's mentioned here, but a sunrise..that's ok..
and you should really get this album..

anyway, i first found js666 when i had a bit of a crush on a girl about 2 years ago..and we made friends on last fm after awhile..and i saw that she listened a lot to js666, so i found this guy on myspace..and back then, the file2hd page was still working with the myspace site..so i downloaded all the tracks in his player and the 'helsinki rock city boy' track (on js666 - II) became one of my summerhits of 2008..i didnt get ahead with the girl, because she then told me, she could never kiss a smoker..that was not too heartbreaking, after all..but js666 is fucking cool..and you should download all of these 3 albums right now!

during the weekend i found some bookmark i must have made a while ago..it was a bookmark to the enough records page and i didnt remember why or from where i bookmarked it..i liked that..it was like, going into some film without knowing anything about it..and just watching it, while most of the other people in the theatre heard or read too much about the film already..i just downloaded some releases of 'enough records' and the hefty thing about it was..i unpacked all of them and startet to listen..but i havent got to the next one, because i listenend to this one all the time..well, i was supposed to dj tonight, but nobody wanted to give me free drinks..so i said ..well i'd rather go home now and listen to music..i didnt know nothing about 'un' by then but if i did..this would have been my favorite shit to dj tonight..well..one of those next dj nights....
and i just saw, that this album is already 5 years old..and that there is another 'un' release on 'enough records' (i will download it right after this posting)..and a sister-project called pupil but this one goes back even further..to 1999-2003..i wonder what those guys are doing right now..

tyynyliina - flecken ep

well..around late autumn '09, there was an album and it was the very album, that started this version of my 'hefty shit blog', being my first posting here..
it was tyynyliina's 'nach dem rauschen' album (click the link if you do not have this album already!)..i fell so in love with those tracks on 'nach dem rauschen', months ago..and with tyynyliina's music..and nothing has changed since then..and now it's almost 2 months ago since i started the 'hefty shit' blog again..and exactly half a year ago, that 'nach dem rauschen' was released on true call..and yesterday a new release by tyynyliina came out..also on 'true call'..a 6-track ep called 'flecken ep'..
6 tracks about 'flecken' (stains) that will definetely guide you perfectly into this night..into one of the next days..into one of the next nights..or..right into this year's summer..and you really should be accompanied by the 'flecken ep'..while taking your first summer steps, this year..
ok, enough said, i think..just dive into those 6 tracks..2 have vocals by tyynyliina..one features zimmer on a weird synth..and all of the tracks are totally deep..memorable..and mind-blowing..it's the release of the season for me..whatever season that is, at the moment..springtime or already summer? doesn't matter that much, i guess, as long as we all have a great time..

ok more party..i have a dj set later on and still searching for some hefty tracks for it..and yeah..so i came across this album again..i just downloaded it one or two weeks ago..and it blew my mind already, when i played it for the first time..released on sayonara records i think sometime in march or april this year..
a first quick research didn't bring me any myspace pages for tosakusha or sayonara records..but its a great label..you should download all 9 releases they have so far..
and start with this one..and the 'fine weather' track on it..this one will make you dance like a motherfucker, i think..i hope..

well this one just came out yesterday..it is the first volume of a series called 'beat a confronto' created by ragnampiza audio blog..it seems to be a very interesting blog..you should have a look at it..they also do a weekly radioshow on controradio..

here is a very beautiful album..it came out already in early 2008 on les disks qui sautent, a very great french label which stopped to operate about a year ago..but it has almost 70 releases and they are still online..also, the guys who did 'les disks qui sautent' are doing another label now, et mon cul c'est du tofu?, which is also a small distributor for nice and limited hardware stuff..releasing on vinyl, tape or cd, 'et mon cul c'est du tofu?' are still providing their releases as free downloads on their site too..you should check and maybe also order some records there..
but well now..here is top montagne's 'laïka bielka strelka' album..

visit them on myspace and also their homepage..there you will find all of their releases..like an earlier album on 'les disks qui sautent' called 'pasha gif' or two releases which came out on boudiou records in 2004 and 05..unfortunately most download links on boudiou are not working anymore..but the top montagne releases are still downloadable..

wow these two tracks here just blew my mind so heavily..and it's maybe bad timing now to post something like this during a sunday's midnight hour..it so kicks ass!
and i don't feel like writing too much at the moment, but whenever you wanna get crazy, out of your mind and maybe even dirty..play these two tracks (especially second one)..
i guess this digital single was released just yesterday (on their bandcamp page obviously already in october 2009)..but the archive i downloaded had yesterday's date in its files..
and it came out now on la bèl netlabel from rome, italy..they probably just started but i think they have a lot of further plans..and also elisa luu is linked on their artist list..and at la bèl's myspace page you can already prelisten a track by her called 'flow time'

it's saturday afternoon now..maybe you are about to prepare some candlelight dinner? in this case..you should download this album rather quickly..and start to play it shortly before your special one arrives..this album is very beautiful and sexy and at the same time totally weird and crazy..i fell so in love with it..just as it was starting to play for the first time for me..
and hey, if it's not going to be a candlelight dinner tonight..it's ok..maybe you're heading out into the night later..and even if you're still alone when the night is over..you can watch the sun rise from a hidden place and listen to "this house boat is making me sea sick" (the third track on this album..and a very perfect last track for weird nights) and i would guess..you will be smiling..at last..when this track kicks in..at least a bit..give it a try!
this album came out in december 2009...as a very limited cd-r release (10 copies!) on afternoons modeling which is kind of a sublabel of i had an accident records. the cd-r's had a very special package which featured a painting by julia ladense, who also runs the 'afternoons modeling' label. the album..like all the other releases on the label, is free to download..you should check the page and get the other releases too..and maybe you're lucky and able to still catch a hardware copy of some of the other releases..this one is so fucking sold out though..
but well now..here it is..mp3 files at least..the 'double trouble doo doo bubble' album by coyote clean up..enter this album at your own risk..but fucking enter it! like spooky backyards that just seem too amazing to not take those photo opportunities..so?

ok..this one is really, i think, the most pop posting i made here so far..

it was the second single on the beko dsl label..and whoever does the beko label..must be really crazy and so into music and into what he does..for free! that's amazing..i found the beko label some days before last new year's eve and it was the 'pool house' track of this single that touched me the most of their releases..and it was a very memorable time..those days before new year's eve..and x-mas..listening to 'pool house' right now, brings all these 'end of 2009' days back..as if it was yesterday..and today i found the beko label again..as it was listed on a friend's top friend list on myspace..and i saw that there were so many new releases..they release one of those digital singles every monday! that's so motherfucking cool! thank you, beko label and thank you, jamie long for this single..and especially for 'pool house'

came out some months ago..in late november 2009..on sea section records..
4 untitled tracks..lasting around 13 or 14 minutes..
i couldn't find a myspace page..but as it is said on the sea section page..these are the first recordings by 'antelope range' and also that they recommend it "for those of you who enjoy a late night excursion"
i also think that this ep is a perfect soundtrack for late night excursions..so you're still awake? and still going out? download this ep now and copy it to your mp3 player..

ok..so another posting tonight..and another release from the mine, all mine! records label..
also came out last late summer..and for me..right now..it is the perfect midnight hour soundtrack..after a weird blue screen incident, which gladly did no further harm..
this one is a very very great ep..i would say..still ambient..but then it's also hip hop..and i had such a lazy day, that i only found out that guru died yesterday because a good friend of mine posted a gang starr video on facebook which was labeled 'rip guru'..it made me very sad..and once more i realized how much i love gang starr..and how much i love hip hop..
so..once again..hip hop, don't stop! even if you're so hidden like on this ep..less hidden on track 05, by the way, which features a guy called 'pluto', but still rather hidden somehow..is there a genre called 'hidden hip hop'? anyway..track 05 is very mindblowing!
i havent found out much about 'chrystos' yet..no myspace or something..maybe i was just too blind or a bad researcher this time..but come on, just download this ep and inhale it..

goldyne - st ep

to tell you the truth..i always had kind of a thing for disappearers..and the open questions surrounding them, which can never be answered..and the things, disappearers gave to us, shorty before they disappeared..before they "decided to leave their old life behind"..
these things have something very special..and with the right kind of ears or eyes, you will hear or see or better feel this 'urge for going'..while watching 'puce moment' for example..or while listening to this amazing ep..
it was released on october 2nd last year..not so long ago..(but then..a long long time ago, eh?) ..on the very great mine, all mine! records label. on its release page i found this editor's note:

"After the release of this EP, Goldyne changed its name and then disappeared completely. If you know where Goldyne went and/or are Goldyne, comment below. We miss you."

reading this and a few minutes later, listening to this ep for the first time, put me in a very strange mood this afternoon..all i knew at this very moment, while listening to the 'arsenic and old lace' track, the 3rd track on this ep, that i so hoped, goldyne has a very great springtime right now, wherever he might be at this very moment..and i thank him alot for having recorded these wonderful tracks before disappearing..
this ep is very very special, and rough, and everything but homogenic..shit, it's fucking amazing!

during the weekend, i found the great deep white sound label and it was like entering a whole new universe of hefty shit..i think by now, i downloaded about half of their back catalogue..and by now, they have 69 releases! and most stuff i heard of it so far, was very great or very strange or just...very amazing..they do a very great job with this label and you should definetely check it out..and download at least a lot of their releases..and i'm pretty sure i will post some more stuff from the 'white deep sound' label during the next days..but for now, i have this one..
because it's rather late now and the weekend is already over..and in case you need some real beautiful music during sleeping or for next breakfast..download this ep!
it came out in early summer 2008..and i don't remember much about those early summer days of 2008, but i'm pretty sure, they would have been so much better, if i already knew this ep already back then..

i'm not in a very big writing mood tonight..which is a bit sad..because this ep would so deserve it..but maybe better make your own film with it! and as you should know, "these things take time", like molly nilsson would say..at the moment i'm very sure that this ep will accompany me during the warmer and fucking hot weeks, this year will bring..
and by the way, this is another one of these eps that conclude with an amazing last track..and this ep's last track is called 'miles of water'..

so..the midnight hour is approaching once again..and with it also the birthday of a good friend of mine is coming around..and i think i forgot his birthday at least 3 or 4 times in a row and only facebook reminded me today ..that's a bit weird and sad..but anyway..this posting is for him because i'm pretty sure that he will like it..
i never posted two releases by the same artist in a row here..and i think i won't do that again..but this release is just as amazing as the one i posted one or two hours ago..and maybe even more hefty shit!
this was also released on dedicated records (on the day of my birthday, this year, by the way!) and it is also by heinali..not exactly..this one is a collaboration of heinali and matt finney (of ambient/experimental duo finneyerkes)
and matt's spoken word vocals are fucking amazing! they're sounding so much like samples from strange and rare films or samples taken from rare strangers recorded somewhere, wherever this would have been..somewhere inside or at least very near to the twilight zone maybe .. but matt obviously did all of those vocals by himself..
and i know i'm pretty fast with sentences like 'that's the best thing i've heard in ages' but this time it could be fucking true! yeah i think it is fucking true, this time around..and while writing this and doing some other stuff too..the title track of this release just keeps on repeating..and repeating..yeah it's one of those tracks..i would call 'last tracks'..or sometimes 'first tracks'..for even bigger stories..with loads of chapters..
make sure to download this one right now..and try to forget like all the things that stress you out..at this very moment..and while the 'town line' track is kicking in..there is some good chance to do so!

i just found this one earlier today and i think i listened to these 3 amazing tracks on this release already ten times or so..
it was released only some days ago..last sunday..and came out on the great dedicated records label, a very brilliant netlabel from chicago..you should spend a lot of time downloading and listening to their back catalogue..unfortunately on their bandcamp page..or in the archives..there are no catalogue numbers mentioned but you can look for that at their myspace page or become a fan of 'dedicated records' at facebook..
heinali comes from kiev, ukraine..and already released a lot of stuff..like an ep on don't panic, an earlier ep on 'dedicated records' called
'into the sea'..and compilation-tracks on pincet and sentimony..
you should check all of this later..but first..sit back and listen to the wonderful 'haiku' ep! .. this one is perfect for beautiful, sad and strange moments in springtime..

i just remembered djing at a very small place in kreuzberg, every tuesday while a good friend of mine was working there..the place was way too small to dance and no-one there would have danced even if the place would have been huge..and no-one was really interested in the music i played except for my friend and one or two other people..so i always played a weird mix of whatever next tracks crossed my mind..but whenever i got too dreamy and ambient my friend was coming around, just saying "more beats!"
it's been a while now since i djed there..but when i was scrolling down my blog i had to think of this friend of mine and how she would come to me, telling me "more beats!"

well..the whole weekend passed since i posted something here..but at least now i have a very special release i want to show you..
this was the second release on the distance records label..a very great netlabel, i already have come across because of the bleeding heart narrative's album 'this octopus is going to eat your face' (this album is very great too and in case you do not have it already..you know what i mean!) but i really have to thank a great radio show called not the normal shit radio to have found this mind-blowing release..i dont remember when it was..i guess 2 or 3 months ago when they featured tyynyliina's 'nach dem rauschen' album on their show one saturday evening..and i wanted to hear what they would have to say about it and which tracks they would play from her great album..and following the tracks by tyynyliina, were tracks by 'dead formats'..and i so loved the name of this project...and i so loved the dead formats' music..and i needed to have this release..
yesterday afternoon it was playing in my winamp like so many times before, since that saturday evening when i listened to not the normal shit radioshow..and i just woke up, wondering what it was, that was playing there, because i knew i listenened to it a lot of times before..and sure enough, it was 'holocene' by 'dead formats'..and i fell heavily in love, once more!
their myspace page that is mentioned on the distance recordings' release page is not working anymore..i hope that, at the moment, those guys are recording new stuff..though we can't be sure about that..we will find out later..but anyway, the link to the 'holocene' album is working..click the cover image and the download will start..

i could, but this ep is too amazing and it so fits in here..because it is totally 'hefty shit'! only 3 tracks..and it lasts not even 15 minutes..but it blows everything already after or during the first track which is called 'daydream' and it will blow everything once again during the third and last track on it, which is called 'more of you'..i think this one will be another ep that could bring me back to early spring 2010 anytime i will listen to it..later on!

all of the three tracks feature spoken word samples from james ellroy's novel 'my dark places'.. and for me that's what this ep is about..dark places....

as i told you already some time ago..i like 8bit sounds alot these days..and by doing a bit :) of researching again for new cool stuff there, i came across this ep..

released about 2 weeks ago..and exactly one week after my 31th birthday..on calmdownkidder records ... and what shall i write more about such an ass-kicking 5-track-ep by a guy who says on his myspace page that "the world needs more gameboy booty bass"? yeah, of course it does!
play this one very loud..and during this part of the evening maybe with headphones?..at least if you got so shitty neighbors like i do..but somehow i might even thank those fuckheads finally..because this ep sounds so cool..and so hefty shit..very loud..and with headphones..give it a try!

wahn - space quest ep

so..you're in for some dubtronics now? here would be the 'space quest ep' by wahn..and i just found it by accident some hours ago..of course i downloaded an ep with that title..as i really loved the space quest series, back in the days, and i still do..ah i really should re-install the dosbox emulator finally..
anyway, this was released in late february 2010 on acroplane and you should really listen to it..

and visit 'wahn' at myspace..there is another release by wahn on acroplane called 'the secret tapes'..it's a bit darker but also pretty good!

hey i want to play you another great release from the creation centre label..it's so beautiful and a perfect spring ep..even was released in spring..about 2 years ago, in april 2008..
i think the ep's title is very well-chosen..because these track work perfectly for breakfast after a long night but they would also work totally great as a soundtrack for a beer in the park during later hours or spending the night on the rooftop of an abandoned factory building during even later hours..maybe try for yourself soon..
and i know for sure that the last track on this ep which is called 'reach' will be one of those tracks that will always bring me back to early spring 2010..
get this ep now!

hula hooper is a collective from tokyo formed by takeyuki hakozaki and naomile..you should check out their myspace page..there are some other releases like the 'toushi zuhou' ep that was released on the mimi label in 2007..or a mixtape called 'fall is for lovers' that was presented by phlow magazine in march 2009..

daisuke miyatani - fragments

this is a very short ep by daisuke miyatani..only 8 minutes long!
3 short and rough tracks..fragments..just like what the release is called..
but these 3 tracks are great..and mind-blowing..and i can't find better words for it..than great..and mind-blowing..
if it will ever getting late again and you still will have the urge to go out..and the last subways take so long to arrive, to take you, wherever they shall take you..make sure to have this ep in your mp3 player and spend those angry minutes while waiting for the next train with listening to daisuke miyatani's fragments..then, at last, you can surrender to the night..or just go home again and fall asleep..satisfied..whatever..but download this short ep!

came out in mid-summer of 2008 on creation centre..great netlabel, by the way..you should download other of their stuff too and look out for other releases by daisuke miyatani, like the 'diario' album that was out on ahornfelder or the release on schole he did together with sawako called 'hi bi no ne'...visit him at myspace to find out more about his works..

and by the way, don't freak out or be afraid, if those tracks on the 'fragment ep' stop earlier than you have thought..they are fragments..and they are amazing! and they might stop earlier than you have thought..
